Rather than eloquent commentary and witty reminiscence about the passing winter (and the fall before that), I'm just going to drop in some pictures and give you a pictorial review. Enjoy!
Violet helped me make Mike's birthday cake. She's a great helper in the kitchen!
The chocolate beet birthday cake. It was a resounding success!
Here is a glance at one of the first times Violet and Thaddeus were "playing" together. Of course they had interacted on many regular occasions, but this was the first time that we looked across the room and saw them playing with the same toy at the same time.
Another image from Mike's birthday. I bought him a beer at the High Bees (Violet's name for the Beehive Grill), and Thad wanted to have his own taste.
Thad isn't quite walking on his own yet, but he does demand that we help him walk around the house pretty much non-stop. On this occasion, Violet wanted to help. She's a GREAT big sister.
Here's a picture of a random morning at the DDEC (campus preschool and daycare). I usually drop Violet off at her classroom first, then take Thad to his class. Notice the colorful preponderance of snowsuits, boots, gloves, hats, and winter coats. This was during our month or so of below-zero temps.
Possibly the cutest picture of Thaddeus yet. Thanks for Cioci Jenn for the cute hat:-)
I took the kids up to Hardware Ranch for a sleigh ride out to visit the elk. It was about 25 degrees warmer up there, the air was clear (we've had terrible inversions and the worst air quality in the nation for much of the winter down in the Cache Valley), and the sun was amazingly bright and cheerful. It is amazing what a 20-mile drive will do for your health and well-being!
Part of the elk herd with Violet in the sleigh.
Here's the result of one of Violet's favorite new art projects - making snails out of play-dough. She was SO excited to teach Mike and I how to make snails!
Finally, I thought I'd take a picture of the USU Music Department's office listing. Not that I need to prove anything, but apparently I felt the need to prove something. Look! There I am:-)
