!Nuevas Experiencias!

So this week has had Violet trying lots of new things.

Check out the photo! We finally captured a photo of her teeth. These are obviously her two bottom teeth; the picture comes just in time for her two top teeth to arrive. Stay tuned for another top tooth picture (maybe).

We went to the Tandoori Oven for dinner. Violet ate some kind of wagon wheel things... who knows what they are, but they looked like puffed rice. If you know the name for these things, please let us know.

She also ate some naan and some basmati rice.

And today we went hiking to White Pine Lake! This was an extremely fun trip. About 8 miles as near as we can figure, so it was not too strenuous of an effort for any of the three of us. We all had a tremendously good time - Joanna and I were excited to get back out into the mountains hiking again, and Violet seemed to really enjoy looking and listening to everything, particularly the hikers we passed by. Every one of them mentioned her huge smile and how much fun she appeared to be having. And many of them, with kids in tow, made comments about our awesome baby backpack, too.

A minor trip highlight is that Violet finally fell asleep in the Sherpani. She has never fallen asleep in the backpack before, so this is a milestone for her.

Last, but certainly not least, we should mention that Violet joined us for lunch at one of our local sushi restaurants, Takara (warning: extremely lame website). Don't get too excited...we didn't feed her any sushi per se, but she did eat some sushi rice and some tiny bits of seaweed from our seaweed salad! And as we finished our meal, the server brought us some small melon balls for dessert - we think it was honeydew melon. At any rate, we gave Vi some tiny bits of melon, and she loved that, too!

So there you have it - muchas nuevas experiencias!

I think 8 miles is pretty strenuous. espeically when carting a child on your back. and the child's provisions. Either i'm a weakling or you guys are superheros. maybe a little bit of both. looks fun. miss you guys!
