Another day, another new bunch of lessons learned

No pics today. Sorry. She is still as cute as ever, trust me.

So last night we didn't sleep. I gather that no new parent ever sleeps and that we should give up on the idea of restful sleep for the foreseeable future. We'll make it.

One of the reasons we didn't get much sleep is because little Violet is a sleepy-eater. She likes to fall asleep about 10 minutes into her feedings. So then she doesn't get enough food and then wakes up 30 minutes later all hungry and cranky. So today we visited a lactation consultant at the Women's Center. Totally awesome. We learned a few tricks and some new techniques to help Vi eat larger volumes of food less frequently. It seems to have worked for the last 10 hours or so because once we feed the little squirrel she goes to sleep for 3 hours. Jackpot! I (we) sure hope this keeps up.

One new experience for me was that Joanna and I high-fived over a poopy diaper. Wha...? Well, when your daughter doesn't eat enough, she doesn't poop enough and then you get nervous because she hasn't moved her bowels in almost 24 hours and then you don't sleep and... you get the picture. Sometimes temporary anxiety relief comes in strange forms. Yah for poop!

Hey, Robert and I made a flow chart of poops and pees which we took with us to the doctor and he laughed at us. Looking back it was quite funny.
