Violet's First Visit to the Bar

OK, so she actually didn't go to the bar, she went to a restaurant with a bar. We needed a night away from the house, and decided to take Violet out for her first dinner away from home. We decided to go low-key, particularly because I didn't want to have to change out of my scrubs and tennis shoes. Therefore we ended up going to Chili's. Nothing fancy, nothing out of the ordinary. In fact we don't really have any choices in Logan that are out of the ordinary, but that's another story.

So, Violet went to dinner. We asked for a booth, and were seated in the bar. That automatically impressed us. Not only were we out for dinner with our baby, but we got seated in the bar!



When our waitress arrived to take our drink orders, Mike got a beer and I got a Diet Coke. Blasphemous (at least in Utah), yes. But we were happy to be able to exercise our right to free beverage choice. Of course Violet was interested in what we had, and decided to try the beer herself...


She wasn't all that impressed however, and said that she'd rather we restrict our dinner outings to microbreweries and the occasional winery or distillery. We'll have to keep that in mind, because really, who wants to upset the baby?
